Christ In Youth Conference
This event for middle school students will be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 6th and 7th.  This is an intense, high-energy event that is always a lot of fun.  We need to get registered soon.  If you want to go, please pick up a registration form from the church office.  The cost for the conference, transportation, food, and lodging will be $110.00.  If you want to go and money is an issue, please see Kurt.
All Youth Movie Night
Since there is no school on Monday we will be staying up late on Sunday, January 18th, to watch some movies here at the church.  We will start with dinner at the church at 7:00 PM and be done at midnight.  You will want to bring a pillow or two to lounge on and a side dish to share for the meal.  We will grill up the hamburgers.  Invite a friend.
Youth Dessert Auction
We will be scheduling our 3rd Annual Dessert Auction for sometime in late February.  This auction will be a fundraiser for camp and C.I.Y.  Here is how this will work.  You or your parents make your favorite dessert and bring it to the church to be auctioned off.  We will invite the whole church, your friends and family to come and bid on all of the delicious goodies that you and others have prepared.  We will also have some desserts available to purchase that evening for people to enjoy while they bid on what they want to take home.  We will get the date to you soon.

Mexico Mission Trip
Regular meetings for this trip will start after the first of the year beginning on January 11th.  If you are planning on going, please return your application as soon as possible.
Discipleship Groups
D-Group is a time for serious study and accountability to help us grow a deeper faith.  High School boys meet on Wednesdays at 8:30 PM at the Rovenstine's home, 1451 Candlelight Lane.  High School girls meet on Mondays at 8:00 PM at the Robert's home, 1403 Candlelight Lane.
Bible Lunch Tuesday
Every Tuesday at the First Southern Baptist Church different churches provide a lunch and a short Bible devotion for high school students during each of the two lunches.  You can catch a ride by the band room from one of the church vans or busses.  This lunch is for sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
Prisoner Alert
If you are interested in writing a letter to a Christian prisoner in another country, you can check out how to do that and all of the details at www.prisoneralert.com.  Check with your parents before you do this and make sure they understand what it is all about.  You may call Kurt if you have any questions.

Bibles Unbound
As a result of the presentation that was given by the Voice of the Martyrs representative, we have decided to participate in the Bibles Unbound program.  We will receive five Bibles a month from VOM and then we mail them to people in nations where it is difficult to receive a Bible and pray that God's Word will be read and people will come to know Jesus.  This will cost about $40 a month.  We will have a jar to place a donation in to help us with this project.
